I’m really starting to think most of the human race have no idea what empathy and compassion mean. I work as a cashier at Walmart. It’s not my dream job, but it’s a paycheck. Working there I see the worst side of humanity on a daily basis. People these days have no manners. We treat each other like total shit. People have (de)evolved into very selfish primates. Talking to each other and treating one another like dirt. Whatever happened to “Treat others as you want to be treated.”
I think it has became this way all because how we treat our children. Most parents don’t sit down and talk to their children anymore. When they do, it’s often screaming at the poor kids. Most don’t talk to their offspring like they’re people. In my honest opinion young ones are spoke down to like they’re property.
Modern parents live very hectic lives. Most households no longer consist of 2 parents, but a single mother or father. Who often has to work 2 jobs to keep up with the bills. This is a drain on the children and society. Lack of the ability/want to spend time with the youth. Kids are rarely taught “virtues” such as empathy and compassion. Instead they are plopped in front of the tv or computer. I hear money and religion are the roots of all evil. But in my honest opinion the root of all evil is the lack of empathy and compassion.
